Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally
The 21st Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally was held at King George V Sports Field, within the historic Royal Burgh of Fortrose Saturday on 30th August 2025.
Culburnie Classic Cars rolled up at the event start point, Dingwall Auction Mart, with two cars from our collection - Citroen Traction Light 15 and Rover 95 – with Tommy and John Mackenzie behind the wheels.
John with dad Tommy showing the Rover 95 and Traction Light 15, with fellow ‘father and son’ classic car enthusiasts Stuart and Ruariadh Mackay.
After some refreshments at the Drover’s Rest Cafe, we enjoyed a leisurely “scenic tour” to Fortrose, which took around an hour. It was a great afternoon for enthusiasts of historic and classic cars, as well as the local community, with a fine line up of classic vehicles on display at the rally field, entertainment and of course an opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
And with the sun shining we also indulged in another favourite past-time - ice cream!

A few words...
Seeing your beautiful car today has made my day.
My father who passed away a few years back, loved the Light 15 and was lucky enough to own one for a while.
Made me smile on this Father's Day.
Thank you. Eleanor.
SOME BACKGROUND
The first Classic Vehicle Rally was held in the Royal Burgh of Fortrose in August 2003 under the auspices of the Highland Classic Motor Club, and from that first year with a display of over twenty classic vehicles, the rally has gone from strength to strength.
It is now organised by the Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally Committee who have made this into a popular community event with the aim of creating a pleasant day out for both the public and classic vehicle owners.
The event is one of the largest of its kind to be held in this part of the Highlands, and certainly one of the largest community-based events in the Black Isle area. In addition to a display of over 100 classic vehicles at previous events, there has been a pipe band, other field entertainment and local stallholders on the rally field.
